City of Katowice has obtained funding for a project within the framework of cultural information system 4.2 Regional Operational Programme of Silesia. 

On 20 July 2010, the Regional Board Resolution No. 1840/394/III/2010 Silesia has decided to be financing a project entitled "The creation and marking of the Route of Modernism in Katowice." The total value of the project is the amount of 545 217,92  zł.; Funding is 354 194,90 zł. With the implementation of the project a system of e-information around the area culturally attractive marked by 16 buildings that are the most valuable examples of Katowice modernism in the very center of Katowice:

  • 7. Apartment house, Podchorążych 3  
  • 8. Villa, Bratków 4 
  • 9. Villa, Kosciuszki 65 
  • 10. Tadeusz Michejda villa, Poniatowskiego 19 
  • 11. Villa, Kilińskiego 46 
  • 12. Apartment house, PCK 6
  • 13. Apartment house, PCK 10 
  • 14. Revenue Building, Żwirki i Wigury 15/17 
  • 15. Garrison Church dedicated to St. Kazimierz Królewicz,  Skłodowska-Curie 20 
  • 16. National Economy Bank, Mickiewicza 3 

In order to facilitate access to information on modernist architecture in Katowice, nearby buildings forming the trail, info kiosks with multimedia presentation will be set. The remaining elements of the e-cultural information will be a purchase of audio guides and creating thematic web pages. Moreover, under this project a theme folder "Route of modernism" and the city game will be produced . The route designated by the above mentioned buildings will be named Route of Modernism and will be the length of about 5, 5 km.
